In France, la F\u00eate des M\u00e8res<\/strong><\/em> is typically celebrated on the last Sunday in May, unless it clashes with Pentecost\/Whit Sunday, then it is delayed to the first Sunday in June. Though the idea to celebrate mothers had been around since the 19th century (Emperor Napoleon I proposed a day to honour mothers of large families in 1806 for example),\u00a0Mother’s Day in its current festive form became official in France in 1950. Traditionally, French children treat their mothers to a petit-d\u00e9jeuner au lit<\/em>, or to the adorably infamous collier de nouilles<\/em> (dry pasta necklace)!\u00a0\ud83e\udd50\ud83d\udcff\ud83e\ude77<\/p>\n
