This week, as movie stars enjoy a walk on the beach at the Festival de Cannes<\/strong><\/em>, we’re taking the time to celebrate the French septi\u00e8me art\u00a0!<\/em>\u00a0\ud83d\ude0e\ud83c\udfa5<\/p>\n

France takes great pride in preserving its cinematic identity, notably through what we call l’exception culturelle fran\u00e7aise<\/em><\/strong>. This policy ensures that French cinema remains vibrant and competitive, by helping film production through the Centre National du Cin\u00e9ma (CNC)<\/em>, which offers grants and tax benefits to filmmakers. In addition, movie theatres in France are required to screen a minimum of 40% French films, and a portion of every movie ticket sold (about 10.7%) is reinvested into new productions. Thanks to these policies, France is one of the few countries where domestic films consistently perform well against Hollywood blockbusters.\u00a0\ud83c\udf9e\ufe0f\ud83c\uddeb\ud83c\uddf7<\/p>\n
