Le Paris d’Am\u00e9lie<\/h1>\n

This week, we’re celebrating the 25th anniversary of the whimsical cult film “Le Fabuleux Destin d’Am\u00e9lie Poulain”<\/em><\/strong>, aka “Am\u00e9lie”, by following its sweet heroine’s steps through Paris’s picturesque Montmartre neighbourhood\u00a0\u2728\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

“Am\u00e9lie” features an unforgettable soundtrack<\/strong> that stays with you long after the film. But did you know that director Jean-Pierre Jeunet discovered Breton composer Yann Tiersen<\/strong>‘s earlier albums and chose several existing compositions for the film, before asking him to write a few new ones especially for “Am\u00e9lie”.
\nThe soundtrack became a worldwide success, won the 2002 C\u00e9sar Award for Best Original Music, and earned a BAFTA nomination for Best Original Film Music. More than twenty years later, melodies such as La Valse d’Am\u00e9lie<\/em> and Comptine d’un autre \u00e9t\u00e9 : L’apr\u00e8s-midi<\/em> remain among the most recognisable pieces of French film music.\u00a0\ud83c\udfb6\ud83d\udc9a<\/p>\n
