This week, we’re going away on a sunny summer holiday<\/strong>\u00a0\u2600\ufe0f\ud83d\ude0e<\/p>\n

Let’s have a look at some words derived from the French term for summer! Let’s start by noting that l’\u00e9t\u00e9<\/strong><\/em> (summer) is not to be confused with its purely accidental homophone, the past participle of \u00eatre<\/em>: j’ai \u00e9t\u00e9<\/strong><\/em>. But French also has its own special noun for summer holidaymakers: un estivant<\/strong><\/em> or une estivante<\/strong><\/em>. As for summer activities, you can enjoy des promenades estivales<\/strong><\/em> or des festivals estivaux<\/strong><\/em> – beware of French agreements!\u00a0Now you’re ready for a French summer!\u00a0\ud83d\udd76\ufe0f\ud83e\ude74<\/p>\n
