Pourrai meaning ?

From the lesson tip for pouvoir comparing future (pourrai) to conditional (pourrais)  «The je form has the same pronunciation as in Futur Simple. Look for the context : I will have to vs I could»

I am confused - doesn't «Je pourrai» translate better as «I will be able to»? Not sure at all how "Je pourrai", becomes "I will have to",  which sounds more like a meaning for  «Je devrai», (which I think is also translatable as I will be able to).

Damien asked previously and Chris responded basically noting that he thought the same - yet the lesson remains unchanged and the original question unanswered otherwise. Is this just an accepted expression that does not fit with overlapping but different definitions of pouvoir/devoir?
