Leaderboard improvements coming soon!

The Kwiziq Leaderboard is a fun way to compete informally with other users on on the network, in three separate competitions: Day Streak, Kudos Points, and Top Testers.

The last one has always been a bit controversial as it is calculated on the basis of how many tests each user takes. While most tests have 10 questions, some clever (if slightly nefarious) Kwizzers have figured out how to game the system.

We realize that it’s not quite fair to rank Top Testers by how many tests you’ve taken, so we’re going to recalculate based on how many questions you answer. This will shake up the numbers a bit but should result in a fairer competition. And we’ll be keeping an eye out for any new tricks from krafty kwizzers to keep them on the straight and narrow.

We’ll be flipping the switch on Saturday, 18 April, so stay tuned!

I don't understand the changes you've made to the Leaderboard system. I did 5 quizzes today and my monthly total went up by 5, 'Twas ever thus. But I answered 50 questions, so should it not have gone up by 50?
Also what are the other two, Kudos points and Streaks? How do they work?
Just curious.

Bonjour Laura et tout l'equipe,
It's fun learning but also competing on the Leaderboard alongside others learning as well.
Do you think maybe as an incentive and reward, at the end of a month, the Kwiziq team could maybe say a congratulatory 'well done' to the top three, just to mark a big achievement ?
You get to know names of those on the leader board and it would be a way of saying well done with all your hard efforts over the month.
Thanks, just a thought to encourage folk.
Helena

Bonjour Helena,

We do just that in the first newsletter of each month. :-)

As a result of this change, on the dashboard would it be possible to indicate how many questions have been answered this month? This would be in addition to the number of tests, which is useful to know.

Unfortunately, I have had time to attempt only two of your tests. But I think that your method of teaching is excellent, the best for me at any rate that I have encountered after many years of studying French. I still do not understand, however, how to make accents as I type my answers. I hold the key for the desired letter down, but then I do not know how to choose or to generate an accent.

Thanks to all the team, helping to improve our skills in French

Merci pour cette formation!
