In my village, there is a war memorial. It is on the main square, near the church. The monument is very beautiful: on top of a big grey stone, there is the statue of a soldier. On the stone, we can read the dead soldiers' names. I find this very moving. People place [some] flowers in front of the memorial in order to commemorate the soldiers' deaths. For me, it is an important monument because we must never forget their sacrifice.
