- Gilles, I hate that we depend so much on industrial fishing to feed the world population. But without it, we could not supply enough fish to markets and (to) restaurants. - Although this is true, Élise, industrial fishing causes severe damage to marine ecosystems. Overfishing is well known for depleting fish populations and nowadays, many species are endangered due to this type of fishing. And despite the regulations and (the) quotas that governments put into place, illegal fishing continues, killing thousands of marine animals every year. - However, this industry provides millions of jobs worldwide and it contributes to supporting coastal economies where it is harder to find a job. - But at what cost, Élise? If we carry on destroying fish stocks, there won't be any industry left to support the communities who rely on these jobs. Unless fishing practices become more respectful of the marine ecosystem, future generations will never know the rich biodiversity of our oceans.

Let me take a look at that...
