Spanish Adverb

An adverb is a word that modifies (describes) a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.

There are different types of adverbs, depending on how they modify the verb, adjective or another adverb.

  1. Adverbs of frequency (a menudo - oftenmañana - tomorrow)
  2. Adverbs of place (aquí -herecerca near)
  3. Adverbs of quantity (mucho - a lot, demasiado - too much, muy - very)
  4. Adverbs of time (ayer yesterdayhoy today)
  5. Adverbs of manner ( rápidamente - quickly, solo - alone, a ciegas - blindly)
  6. Affirmative adverbs (- yes, no - no)
  7. Negative adverbs (casi nunca - hardly, ever, nunca -never)
  8. Adverbs of doubt (quizás - maybe, tal vez - maybe)
  9. Interrogative adverbs (cuándo -when, por qué why)
