A Bit of French with A&C Ep. 6: Nos Fêtes de Fin d'Année

• se déplacer = to travel / to go somewhere
• hors pair = outstanding / exceptional

• un pistolet = a handgun
• un prout / un pet = a fart (childish,familiar term/regular term)
• une huile essentielle = an essential oil
• des heures d’amusement = hours of fun
• une séance de jeux vidéos = a video games session
• des feux d’artifice = fireworks
• le premier de l’An = January 1st
• la farce = stuffing
• l’agneau = lamb
• ramener/rapporter [quelque chose] = to bring back [something]
• marrant(e) = fun/funny (familiar)
• une fève = (here) a charm, usually ceramic or metal, hidden in the King Cake
• une couronne = a crown
• C’est quand même autre chose ! = It’s something else for sure!
• prendre une résolution pour le Nouvel An = to make a resolution for the new year
• se remettre à [quelque chose] = to start [something] again / to get back to doing [something] 
• ça tire ! = it’s tense / lit. it’s pulling (on the belt)
• une pile de romans = a pile of novels
• avoir hâte = to be impatient / can’t wait
• incongru(e) = incongruous/strange
