Doing your food shopping [US: grocery shopping] in a farm shop has indisputable advantages. First, the quality and the freshness of the products are guaranteed as they are often picked on the same day they're sold. Plus, as a customer, you will contribute to the local economy by supporting the farming community of the region. Furthermore, by choosing to consume local products, you will reduce your carbon footprint as well as the one of the products' that you'll be buying. However, these shops also have their own downsides. For example, their opening hours are generally less flexible than the supermarkets'. Besides, prices tend to be higher because the quantities produced are much smaller. Therefore, this option will not suit all budgets. And finally, you won't find the same diversity of products as in supermarkets.
