The correct answer involves A-levels - not something your American customers will generally be familiar with. Indeed, I had to look it up. There is by the way no general American equivalent. There are the rare states that offer a high school diploma with extra certification contingent upon an examination.

Bonjour Max,

Thank you for your feedback! Indeed, there isn't an equivalent of the French 'bac' in the US. A note is included in the lesson so as to explain the equivalence in the British system though. Your feedback will be passed on to the language team.

Merci de votre contribution et bonne journée !

There are schools in the US that offer International Bacculaureate (IB). They tend to be elite private schools so the average American isn't familar with them.

AB classes/credits are also similar to A-levels. AB classes are voluntary, you can go to uni without taking them and you don't get a specific diploma or certificate. However, like AB classes, you're given advanced credit at US universities for A-levels.

huh? all states in the united states provide a high school diploma upon graduating. there is not an offering, let alone a requirement of extra exams or certifications. you either graduate or you do not. if you do not you repeat that last grade 12, or take a GED class outside of that school to take the GED exam. Which means, no classmates, no prom, no graduation ceremony unless the GED class has one but its not the same with friends from your high school. There is summer school but its "hey you're falling behind, you didnt exactly complete required grade level classes for next grade, so its one last chance over summertime.
