Bien et Tout

Question

Again, the use of little words like "bien" and "tout" are common in French and not direct translations from English. A unit explaining the uses of these two simple words would be really helpful.

"Il a bien compris." "Il a tout compris." "J'en ai bien envie." "Elle est tout heureuse." "Il y a bien de choses." "Il est a des kilometres de toute trace de civilisation."

Not trying to be a pest, but I would really like to master these simple little words and phrases to feel closer to fluent. Thanks.

These are stylistic elements of French and as such best learned by listening to native speakers or reading French. I don't think a platform like kwiziq can reasonably be expected to substitute for this.

I think Kwiziq does a good job with its grammar and usage tests. And the writing and dictee exercises often use these phrases. It's the quirks of French that make it challenging and interesting. Just thought a unit on the different uses of "bien" or the different uses of "tout" as an adjective or an adverb would be something people interested in French might like.
