Connaître v. savoir

In the fill-in-the-blank test "Choisir un cadeau", in which one chooses either connaître or savoir (conjugated), two sentences don't fit into the scheme "savoir if clause with conjugated verb or with following infinitive" v. "connaître if followed by noun". These sentences are:

"Ah, c'est bon à _____!"  and "Ça, je ne ______ pas!"

The answers for both were savoir and sais. Why?

The rule should be modified to read: use connaître if there's a noun following, and savoir in all other cases. But don't count on this -- or any -- rule to be 100% accurate.
