Why is "dans la chambre" used rather than "à la chambre"?

Could you say "elles veulent bien aller à ce concert..."?

Whether you use à or dans la chambre depends a bit on what you want to stress:

Vas à la chambre -- Go to your room.
Vas dans la chambre. -- Go into your room.

But don‘t take these translations literally. They convey the flavor.
