Bonjour Hasan,

‘En + -ant’ is called the gerund, which uses the present participle ‘-ant’. Keep in mind that this is a notion introduced at B1 level. So it will be a bit tricky for now.

- Gerund: simultaneity of 2 actions – while / as -ing

J’ai fait le ménage en écoutant la musique = I did the housework while listening to music

Je suis tombé du lit en me réveillant ce matin I fell of the bed whilst I woke up this morning

- Gerund – cause / effect (because of ..., the following happened)

En disant ce mensonge, elle t’a trahie by telling you this lie, she betrayed you

→ cause = telling a lie - effect = betrayal

En te disant la vérité, je me suis senti mieux = by telling you the truth, I felt better.

→ cause = telling the truth - effect = feeling better

Here is a link on Gerund and Present Participle

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
