Bonjour Diana,
There is a difference between joindre et rejoindre.
'Joindre' is used for joining an organisation/association for the very first time whilst 'rejoindre' is is used for joining an organisation/association that you were previously a part of.
So in this instance, 'joindre' is correctly used.
