Pourquoi on ne peut pas écrire?
1)Après être séparé au lieu de après s’être séparé. Dans la premiere option est-ce qu'il faut un objet....après être séparé de .... qqchose
2)six mois avant au lieu de six mois plus tôt?
3)That was the last time we played matchmakers
j'ai ecrit
c’était la dernière fois qu'on a joué les matchmakers.(c'est acceptable??)

1. The verb is not "séparer" but "se séparer de quelqu'un" (to separate from [someone]) -> après s'être séparé de sa compagne
2. "avant" = before whilst "plus tôt" = earlier (as in the text in English )
3. "Matchmakers" is not a French word (at least, not in metropolitan French).
