Les sceaux vs. les cachets

Les sceaux vs. les cachets

I am trying to understand the word, cachet, which I found in another exercise where it meant tablet.  I thought it had an additional meaning as a kind of wax seal.  Is it not appropriate in this passage as a synonym for sceau ?

Bonjour Frank,

You are right that it is a correct option. It has been updated.

cachet / sceau = seal (context being mail / posting)

cachet = tablet / pill / medication (context being illness / visit to doctor's etc.)

Like Carl mentioned, if you feel it is a correct option, score yourself accordingly even if the word isn't given as an option - although it is always nice for Kwiziq users to contact us to see if it is correct because it can help us add new items of vocabulary to the list, clear any confusion and improve the quality of our content.

I hope this is helpful. Thank you both for your contribution!

Bonne journée !

Word Reference certainly translates "cachet" as "seal." I have this problem all the time when I do writing exercises. There are synonyms that are correct but not used by Kwiziq. At this point, if I am sure the word is correct, I score myself accordingly even if the answer doesn't agree with Kwiziq.
