ou non or ou pas?

ou non or ou pas?

I can't figure out when to use "ou non" or "ou pas"  when using the que....expression.  I'm wrong 50% of the time!

This question relates to:French lesson "Que + the subjunctive mood (Le Subjonctif) = Whether you do something (or not) in French"

ou pas sounds more oral and more familiar to me. I would not use it in writing.
