Saint Catherine’s Day : une date qui coïncide avec le jour de la Sainte Catherine

The linked article on saints’ days gives "la Sainte-Catherine" as an alternative to "le jour de la Sainte Catherine’ but it’s marked wrong in the exercise.

Also wanted to say I appreciate Maarten’s discourse on "washerwoman" - to my British ears it’s distinctly perjorative and laundress is more neutral.

Anne,

thank you for the comment.

I was surprised by the etymology as I indicated ! I note however that neither the exercise, nor the incorrectly assigned ‘ correct answer’ have been changed.

Perhaps Céline could have another look at it ?

Also, Céline, can you explain why you have used ‘ correspondre avec ‘ rather than ‘ correspondre à ‘ as a correct alternative to ‘ coïncider avec ‘ in the last phrase of the exercise ?
