(l'opera) dont le sujet se trouve être un soulevement (des Napolitians contre leurs opresseur) ...how does this translate I wonder...seems like too many words to me...? The opera in which the subject finds themselves/him/itself being an uprising the neapolatians against their opressers...? Shouldn't it be: The opera in which the subect finds themselves in an uprising...A against B? 

Very grateful for a better translation of this sentence!

How about:      "The drama/tragedy whose subject happens to be an uprising (of the Napolitains against their oppressors)"

Michael - from what you have written, I am not sure you know you can click on the text to view a translation ? (It is 'a translation' because translation is subjective, but it is always a good one).

Hi There , I think it's referring to the happenstance that that night's performance just " happened to be on the subject of Neopolitans uprising" that the Belgian uprising occurred....
