Toucher vs Toucher à

Could you please explain the difference between toucher and toucher à? What do they imply?

Please share some examples.

(For e.g., what is difference between - Ne pas toucher à mes clés!  &  Ne pas toucher mes clés! )

'Toucher' (on it's own) means to touch or feel with your hands. It can also mean to reach something (a goal or a destination), move (emotionally), affect someone/something.

'Toucher à' means to put your hands on something, to touch something (mainly in a food context), meddle with. I think I've also seen it used to be 'harming someone/something'.
