Translation of I am talking to

Question

For the clause "and I'm talking to a talented painter." why is "Je parle à ..." incorrect? The exercise only accepts "avec" yet the English given was not "talking with," but "talking to."

Bonjour William,
The exercise does include "je parle à" as a correct option. I did the exercise myself and entered the same answer as you (after I went through your test history). Kwizbot's feedback was a "Well done!" message highlighting in yellow for what was submitted and different from Kwizbot's (but still correct) and highlighting in green Kwizbot's answer (highlighting the difference) as well as showing "Other possible answers" too.
