Using l' instead of la

"Oui, je voudrais une tarte tatin s'il vous plaît, mais je l'aimerais réchauffée et vous mettrez la boule de glace sur le côté"

I am just wondering why it is not "mais je la aimerais réchauffée..." as she is talking about 'une tarte tatin'.

It's because the next word "aimerais" begins with a vowel, then the direct object pronoun (whether it's "le" or "la") would be contracted as l'
