Vivante for lively?

Question

For the sentence "In this beautiful and lively city," I answered "Dans cette belle ville vivante," which was not accepted. Can you explain why as elsewhere it seems to be an accepted translation?

Take a look below at the difference between the French adjectives "vivant" and "animé":
- "Vivant.e" means "alive" or "full of life" in a more general sense. It often describes something that has life (i.e. un animal vivant = a living animal) or a city that is not dull.
- "Animé.e/dynamique" mean "lively" in the sense of bustling, active, or full of movement. When describing a city, animée or dynamique are the more idiomatic choices.

Could you let me know where in the exercise you came across "vivant.e" being used in that way please?

Bonjour Céline,Thank you for the explanation. Sorry, I wasn't very clear in my original question but it wasn't in this exercise or even on this site where I found the use of vivant in this context, I forget where exactly I saw it now but I was trying to understand the correct use so was searching for other resources online. The link you provided has exactly the information I was looking for but failed to find so I will be bookmarking that one for future reference.
