You will take down what he says

Just checking, is “take down” correct? It isn’t in Linguee or WordReference. Should it be “take in”?
Tu recueilleras ce qu'il dit.You will take down what he says.

Bonjour Brian,

'recueillir' in this sentence does mean 'take down' as in 'writing down' what is being said in order to get 'un recueil' (= a collection of stories/poetry etc).

Reccueillir = to write down -> un recueila collection of stories / poetry

It is not its only meaning though.

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
