And here’s a very useful tip to master when talking about French pastries: the difference between une viennoiserie and une pâtisserie 😊 Les viennoiseries comprise all the baked goods made from bready dough folded into flaky delicious treats, such as croissants, pains au chocolat, chaussons aux pommes… Whereas les pâtisseries are closer to cakes, such as eclairs, tarts, flans… Now you know! 🥐🍰

Another great way to remember new vocabulary is to write sentences using it in context. Here’s an example for you to get inspired:
“La première fois que j’ai mis le pied dans une boulangerie française, je ne pouvais pas en croire mes yeux ! Derrière la boulangère, des rangées dorées de baguettes attendaient bien sagement, tandis que dans la vitrine, à côté des magnifiques viennoiseries – les croissants au beurre, les croustillants pains au chocolat et les crémeux pains aux raisins – une variété de pâtisseries multicolores me faisaient de l’œil. Au final, j’ai craqué pour un éclair au chocolat et une belle tartelette au citron, mais j’ai eu du mal à me limiter, et je me suis promis de revenir !”
