“la pression dues”

Could you say a few words about “dues”? Is it the past participle of “devoir” being used as an adjective with [f.pl] agreement? Why is it there in this sentence?

Hi Brian,

The text says -

".... la chaleur, la pression dues ...causées par le feu. "

The speaker changes his mind and uses the better expression 'causées par'  ( caused by the effect instead of due to the effect of)

Here is a good page with this use of this expression which you might find useful -

“Commencée à la fin du XIIe siècle”

Why does the first word have its final “e”? Is is agreeing with the feminine noun “fin”?

Also, is the first word best considered as an adjective or as a past participle in this sentence?

Hi Brian,

I am afraid it goes all the way back to 'La cathédrale  Notre-Dame' at the beginning of the text.

les roses?

Ce vidéo donne l'impression que les vitraux étaient perdues dans le feu.  (Quatrième paragraphe) Mais, en effet, j'ai lu dans les publicités qu' on les a sauvés.  Qu'est-ce que c'est que la verité?
