Take the fastest path to fluent French
There are two ways to express notions of height, length, width and depth in French. Let's find out how.
Learn about dimensions and measurements in French
faire [dimension] de haut, de long, de large, de profondeur
Note that while the forms de haut, de long, de large are more common than de hauteur, de longueur, de largeur, you can NEVER say de profond.
être + haut de/long de/large de/ profond de [dimension]
Note that in this case the adjectives haut/long/large/profond agree in gender and number with the subject they refer to.
Case of measurements
Note: to indicate measurements, you use faire [dimension] sur (by) [dimension].
