Omitting the "ne" in informal negative sentences in French (French Negations)

Take the fastest path to fluent French

In French, you can omit the "ne" when making a negative sentence, but only when talking informally.

How to make informal negative sentences in French

Look at these examples:

Il joue pas? Is he not playing?

Je sais pasI don't know.

Bouge pas!Don't move!

Vous y allez pas?Aren't you going?

Notice that although ne is always required in written French, you'll often hear it dropped in informal speech.

However, you can never omit pas
