- I can't believe that it's taken me so long to visit the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum in Albi. If I'd known how much this collection of paintings would touch me, I would have organised a visit much sooner. Before going there, I read all the books I could about his life and (his) technique. Once I was there, I became completely captivated by his illustrations whose characters conveyed such audacity and (such) joie de vivre. Since my visit, I have become an unconditional fan of this incredible French painter. - I remember thinking the same when I [had] visited the Museum of Fine Arts in Lyon a few years back. What [had] struck me the most at the time was Redon's works. While looking at his paintings, I [had] felt like I was being transported into a dream by the pastel palette and the delicate lines that Redon had used. There was something both fragile and haunting about his characters as if they belonged to a world out of reach. - It's fascinating the way artists manage to reveal what we can feel rather than what we can see.
