I've been living in Paris for three years now, and I hadn't taken the time to visit the famous Catacombs yet! It took my friend Cédric coming and visiting me for me to finally have the opportunity to tick that box! We went [there] on a weekday to avoid queuing [US: standing in line] too much. Cédric had even called them beforehand to make sure that we wouldn't wait too long. I'm glad we took the audio guide, without which we wouldn't have known all the fascinating historical context of these galleries, which would have been a real shame! We were extremely impressed by the depth of the galleries: one struggles to comprehend what six million bodies represent! It's not for the faint of heart!
