Conjugate être in the subjunctive present in French (Le Subjonctif Présent)

Learn how to conjugate ÊTRE (to be) in Le Subjonctif Présent in French

The verb ÊTRE is irregular in Le Subjonctif Présent:

que je sois that I am (were)
que tu sois that you are (were)
qu'il/elle/on soit that he/she/we is (were)
que nous soyons that we are (were)
que vous soyez that you are (were)
qu'ils/elles soient  that they are (were)

Note that:

- The singular forms' endings don't match the expected Le Subjonctif Présent  ending (-e, -es, -e): je sois, tu sois, il soit

- The root soi- becomes soy- in the nous and vous form.
