Certain French verbs, including some very common ones, do not conjugate according to any recognisable pattern.
The four most important irregular French verbs are
- avoir : to have
- être : to be
- faire : to make / to do
- aller : to go
They are highly irregular in nearly every French verb tense and mood.
Other verbs are irregular only in certain conjugations.
