Agreement of adjectives

Une solution gagnant-gagnant.

Gagnant- gagnant . C’est parce-ce qu’il y a deux mots gagnants qui suivent le mot solution?

Si on a une solution gagnante? Ici on doit faire accorder gagnant?

Hi Catriona,

This reminded me of the a book by Stephen Covey :

'Les sept habitudes de ceux qui réalisent tout ce qu'ils entreprennent'

a lengthy translation of the American,  'Seven habits of highly effective people'!

And this is habit #4 :

Pensez gagant/gagnant Think win/win

and not -

gagnant/perdant =win/lose

perdant/gagnant = lose/win

perdant/perdant = lose/lose

etc.

These are set expressions and remain invariable.

But this book is a great read, available in French, and it will change the way you look at life...

Je pense que "gagnant-gagnant" est une expression invariable. Mais "une solution gagnante" serait certainement également correcte.

Yes, gagnant-gagnant ("win-win") is invariable, yet the adjective gagnant used by itself would change according to number and gender of the noun it refers to.
