Why could you not use étreinte or embrasser for hugging please? Enlacement only returns as one option in dictionaries and DeepL and Google translate so why is it preferred here? Thanks.

Hi Keith,
Just to add to Chris' answer, you couldn't use 'étreinte' there as it is a noun.
There was a hint telling you to -
"hugging each other" = Use the correct form of the adjective "enlacé"
Hope this helps!

Embrasser is primarily understood as "to kiss" and should not be equated with the english "to embrace".
enlacer -- to hug
There are other ways to express the same thing, and you shouldn't conclude that your choice of words is wrong simply because it's missing from the list of answers given.
