Can you say "Je mets le chauffage en marche" instead of "J'allume le chauffage"?

Hi Charles,

You can indeed say both but I think that 'j'allume le chauffage' is easier to say than ' je mets le chauffage en marche' so it will probably be used in preference for that reason.
