Can you say "après avoir terminé son diplôme"?

Bonjour Gee,

You are right that "terminé" (as well as "fini") is/are a good alternative(s) for this translation. It's has been added to the options.
Also, we realised that "complété" is an "Anglicism" and should not be used in this way here - See link here: Les emprunts à l'anglais - So it has been removed from the correct options.

I think this query would be best answered by one of the staff experts.

From my research, it looks as if both options in your query are valid with synonymy to achever (vtr).

Terminer (vtr) additionally has synonymy with finir (vtr)

My vote would be with "terminer" but let's see what a French speaker can suggest.

To my ears, terminer has the ring of "to put an end to", whereas compléter means to finish until it is complete.
