Hi Bharat,

In French the verbs -

Décider de faire quelque chose To decide to do something

Essayer de faire quelque chose = To try to do something

take the extra 'de'  when they are followed by another verb.

e.g

J'ai décidé d'aller à Paris le mois prochain I have decided to go to Paris next month

Nous allons essayer de vous aider We are going to try and help you

Hope this helps!

Many times, the preposition de is used to introduce an infinitive.

Je lui ai demandé un autre verre. -- I asked him for another glass.
Je lui ai demandé de nous apporter un autre verre. -- I asked him to bring us another glass.

Hi Bharath,

You have to get into the habit of  learning these verbs with their construction , this will help in the long run.

‘De’ instead comes ‘to’ why when????

Example:je décide de pratiquer in English I decide to practice and I try to attend in French j’essaye d’assister. Why to remplace by ‘de’ ????
