étudient et enseignant

Question

Hi, I was wondering why the words 'étudient' et 'enseignant' were not accepted for 'student' and 'teacher'. Merci!

Hi Anne, 
The word 'enseignant' should be accepted as it is one of the three given ( including professeur and prof ). So it might be a good idea to use the 'report an issue' to let us look at this more closely.
The word 'étudiant' is only used in French after secondary school and above so élève is correct here.

Enseignant is a generic teacher and the general term for a teacher. It also applies to contexts outside of school or university.Professeur is used for teachers at a high school or university. At a colloquial level, prof is used as a ubiquitous abbreviation.Professeur des écoles is the technical term for primary school teacher.
