éXer verbs - what are they?

What do you mean by éXer verbs - you talk about them and then use "Completer" as an example -but completer doesn't end in éxer.

The "x" stands for any other letter (notice the case of the "x" and look at the different examples given). So compléTer, preféRer, repéTer, etc. are all examples of ÉxER verbs.

Thank you, that clarifies it.

It would have been more helpful to replace the X with ?, as we do in (for example) crossword solving applications.
