This is a new expression for me for "giving a gift to someone". I know the expression, "faire quelque chose a quelqu'un" can be used in other ways such as "faire un calin a".
Are there many other similar expressions and is there a lesson on this subject?
Thank you for your help, as always.
There are lots of expressions using the ubiquitous verb 'faire'.
In this instance it is to give a gift to something but you can also use 'offrir un cadeau à quelqu'un.
Here is a video compiled by one of our partners but you will find a lot more online -
Hope this helps!
The general expression is: faire qqc à qqn -- to do something to somebody. This is applicable to a wide range of things one can do to another person.
