Faux/Fausse

Is it true that unlike mentioned in this lesson, Faux/Fausse can also come after the noun? And when it does come after, it has to mean "wrong". (..instead of "fake/false")?

- J'ai tapé un code faux et ma carte est bloquée.

- Malgré quelques réponses fausses, j'ai réussi l'examen.

Bonjour Aashpreet,

In both examples above, "faux" should be placed before the noun:

J'ai tapé un faux code faux et ma carte est bloquée.

Malgré quelques fausses réponses fausses, j'ai réussi l'examen.

Although "faux/fausse" is usually placed before the noun, it can happen to be placed after the noun (in which case, "faux/fausse" highlights an opinion):

une situation fausse

 -> meaning "not as it should be"

C'est un homme faux

-> meaning "deceiptful"

Avoir le regard faux

 -> meaning "deceiptful"

I hope this is helpful.

Bonne journée !
