Tehreem, ‘feel like having an ice cream’ may be less ambiguous, but ‘ feel like an ice cream/a drink etc ‘ is a standard expression commonly used in at least some parts of the English speaking world. 

Including ‘ having ‘ in the translation would suggest the French ‘prendre’ was use such as ‘ j’ai envie de prendre une glace ‘. Not a common expression in French either.
