this was my first C1 dictée. I have done all the B2 and B1 dictées so many times- but this is too difficult!

Don't let yourself be disheartened. From B2 to C1 is quite a jump up. And don't forget: it's not a test, it's a learning opportunity. Use the solutions to get better, and pretty soon you'll ask yourself how you could have ever had a problem with this.
