Within the overall subject of this weeks exercises - celebrating the women of France - should this not continue the theme and be "les jeunes sportives".

les jeunes sportifs
i.I.,
to use just ‘ les jeunes sportives ‘ would suggest she was an inspiration only to young female skaters etc, not to young skaters etc generally. This may sound more ‘ insulting ‘ about her impact and legacy in French than the current phrasing which is traditional ‘ inclusive ‘ French.
Although modern ‘ inclusive ‘ language may be to say both ‘ les jeunes sportives et les jeunes sportifs ‘ or vice versa, and regardless of increased inclusive speech in some situations - some television/radio announcements, signs in shops/businesses etc, such extended, ‘ inclusive ‘ phrases are not common usage in everyday spoken language such as this casual discussion between friends.
Not arguing it couldn’t be changed, but this thought would not arise to many, probably still most (in my view), native French speakers.
