Location of superlative in a sentence
This question relates to:French lesson "Expressing "the most/least that I have (ever)..." with a superlative followed by the subjunctive mood in French (Le Subjonctif)"
Asked 3 weeks ago
Bonjour Michele,
It depends on the position of the adjective:
- BRAGS or BANGS adjectives (i.e. adjectives standing for Beauty, Rank, Age, Number, Goodness, Size) come before the noun
Je veux la plus belle robe qui soit disponible ! = I want the most beautiful dress [which is] available!
- most other adjectives which come after the noun
C'est le roman le moins captivant que je connaisse ! = This is the least captivating novel that I know!
I hope this is helpful.
Bonne journée !
