Negation in french

I have read earlier that while doing negation in avoir we should  change the articles into de for example.. J'ai un Stylo 

Je n'ai pas de Stylo. Then how to follow this rule while using verbs

Hi Sheetal,

I think what you are thinking of is in the following Kwiziq lesson -

It is nothing to do with the verb 'avoir' but with ne ---pas 

This also applies after un, une :

J'achète un camembert -------> Je n'achète pas de camembert 

J'ai un bureau ------> Je n'ai pas de bureau

etc.

You mean verbs other than avoir? Can you give me an example of where you're unsure how to form the negative?
