in the question 5 you put etaitient  which does not see, correct and as you described in the e previous page conjugation for third person plural of verb etre should be etaient not etaitient. Would you please explain

The question I can see that matches this is a multi-choice question that includes the correct answer, and 3 incorrect answers, none of which correspond with what you have written.  
Quand ils select ...étaient/êtraient/sont/ont été sages, ils avaient le droit de regarder la télé. (When they behaved, they were allowed to watch TV.) 
I did the question and there was nothing wrong with the indicated correct response - étaient - or the marking, and there was no option at all for  ‘ étaitient ‘ when I looked.
